- Administrative support for teaching staff
- Administrative support for our Woodlands Wraparound Care provision
- Administrative support for the School Nursing Team
- Updating the schools website (following training)
- Archiving in line with the school’s retention policy

Job/Person Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our two-form entry, infant school based in the Fareham area as a Finance Officer. We are a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing school looking for someone to join our friendly team of staff, managing the financial operations of the Infant School and Wraparound Care provision. The successful candidate will act as the primary contact for all matters relating to finance. Flexibility, communication and organisation skills are paramount. This role will be a permanent, part-time role with the working hours being open for discussion – exact working time/days to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is friendly and welcoming with a warm and professional manner
- Excellent communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders
- Can work independently under pressure as well as functioning as part of a team
- Able to work with frequent interruptions
- Organised and able to prioritise activities, often to tight deadlines

- IT literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Qualified in Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Experience in a school financial team including the use of the IBC and budgeting tools is very much desired but not essential

This busy and varied role will have a range of duties including but not limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of finance, including expenses and individual budget areas
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the school budget in partnership with the Head Teacher
- Frequent review and monitoring of individual budget lines and expenditure
- Making recommendations for financial savings to the Head Teacher
- Maximising revenue and income streams for the school, including lettings management
- Taking the lead on sourcing and applying for financial grants to enhance the operations of the school
- Ensuring that services paid for are sourced and offer value for money
- Processing payments promptly to ensure that contractors and businesses receive funds promptly
- Provide regular financial reports to the Head Teacher and Governing Body, attending Governor meetings as required
- All matters regarding Banking
- Reconciliation of purchase cards
- Administer the staff salary database and ensure integrity of data
- Record staff absences, ensuring claims for reimbursement are completed promptly
- Process appropriate HR forms to generate staff pay and changes to terms and conditions
- Hold overall responsibility of financial systems and databases, inputting and extracting data and producing statistical returns as required by HCC, School, Governors and the DfE.
- Maintain and control the school’s inventory and carry out annual stock take
- Option to take on the role of the school’s Data Protection Office (full training will be provided as required)
- Cover the school Reception desk as and when required to support the admin team as a whole

Clerk to Governors

Job/Person Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Governing Body of our two-form entry, infant school based in the Fareham area as a Clerk to Governors. We are a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing school looking for someone to join our friendly board. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Chair of Governors and will help the board understand its role, functions and legal duties as well as providing clear and impartial advice.

This is a crucial role in helping the board exercise its functions appropriately and confidently, so that it can stay focused on its core functions. Key responsibilities will include:
- To provide advice, information, support and an effective administrative service to the Governing Body
- Prepare focused agendas for the governing body meeting and committee meetings
- Provide administrative support to ad hoc Governor committee hearings, appeals and panel meetings as required
- Liaise with those preparing papers to ensure they are available on time and distribute the agenda and papers as required by legislation
- Endeavour to ensure meetings are quorate
- Record the attendance of governors at meetings (and any apologies whether accepted or not) and take appropriate action in relation to absences including advising absent governors of the date of the next meeting
- Draft minutes of governing body meetings, indicating who is responsible for any agreed action with timescales, and send drafts to the chair
- Circulate the reviewed draft to all governors and any other relevant body
- Follow up any agreed action points with those responsible and inform the chair of progress
- Advise the governing body on governance legislation and procedural matters
- Inform the governing body of any changes to its responsibilities as a result of changes in relevant legislation
- Offer advice on best practice in governance, including on committee structures and self-evaluation
- Maintain governor meeting attendance records to be published on school website as statutory requirement
- Maintenance of board details via Ensure Hampshire Services for Schools system
