Physical Education

Physical Education at Crofton Hammond Infant School is delivered through an engaging and inclusive approach that promotes both physical and mental wellbeing. From EYFS through to Year 2, children develop fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping and balancing, with increasing confidence and control as they progress. The curriculum provides a wide range of opportunities for pupils to be active, including at least two hours of PE each week in KS1, daily physical activity and continuous outdoor provision in EYFS.
Learning is enriched through outdoor experiences, our forest school provision, and cross-curricular activities that encourage children to enjoy movement in different contexts. Pupils are supported to develop resilience, teamwork and creativity through games, dance and competitive opportunities in Year 2, while also learning about the importance of healthy lifestyles.
We provide an inclusive environment where all children can succeed, and through links with local clubs and sporting experiences, we inspire pupils to stay active and develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
